Entirely reimagined by the interior architecture firm Atelier Giffon, this chalet nestled in the heart of the 3 Valleys now unveils six suites with redesigned volumes and a refined, understated interior aesthetic.
Désormais implanté au cœur de la tourelle existante, l’escalier hélicoïdal relie les quatre niveaux du chalet, devenant sa véritable colonne vertébrale. Son vide central accueille un luminaire suspendu composé de fils et de pièces de verre artisanales du créateur Bomma, modèle Soap Chandelier sur mesure, dont l’éclat précieux contraste subtilement avec le côté organique de l’escalier.
Now positioned at the heart of the existing turret, the helical staircase connects the chalet’s four levels, becoming its true backbone. Its central void hosts a suspended light fixture composed of wires and handcrafted glass pieces by the designer Bomma, a bespoke Soap Chandelier whose precious radiance subtly contrasts with the organic character of the staircase.
Porté par sa double hauteur, le salon principal déploie des volumes spectaculaires. Les boiseries murales sont réalisées en vieux bois gris, patinés par le temps. Ils proviennent de bâtiments existants et ont été prélevés sur des façades nord et est, d’où leur tonalité plus froide — à l’inverse des vieux bois bruns issus des façades ouest et sud, plus exposées au soleil. Intégralement manufacturé, le mobilier provient en quasi-totalité de grandes Maisons italiennes telles que B&B Italia ou Flexform, qui signe ici le canapé. La cheminée, profondément remaniée, a fait l’objet d’un travail minutieux sur le dessin et les proportions. Son nouveau socle en granit massif apporte une dimension d’authenticité et d’ancrage. Enfin, le luminaire suspendu participe pleinement à l’ameublement du lieu. Plus qu’un simple éclairage, c’est un objet sculptural qui habille l’espace, de jour comme de nuit.
Carried by its double-height ceiling, the main living room unfolds with spectacular proportions. The wall panelling is crafted from aged grey wood, weathered by time. Sourced from existing buildings, the timber was taken from the north- and east-facing façades, which explains its cooler tones—as opposed to the warmer brown hues of old wood taken from the sun-exposed west and south façades. Almost entirely custom-made, the furniture comes predominantly from major Italian Houses such as B&B Italia or Flexform, which here signs the sofa. The fireplace, extensively redesigned, has been the subject of meticulous work on its form and proportions. Its new solid granite base adds a sense of authenticity and grounded presence. Finally, the suspended light fixture plays a full role in shaping the atmosphere of the room. More than a simple source of light, it is a sculptural object that dresses the space, by day as by night.
Conçue par l’Atelier Giffon, la cuisine a été réalisée par le cuisiniste Poliform, puis sublimée par le travail du menuisier. Afin d’assurer une parfaite cohérence esthétique, l’artisan a habillé la façade du bar avec le même vieux bois que celui utilisé dans l’ensemble du chalet. Ici, la cuisine est avant tout un espace à vivre. Loin de l’univers tout inox des cuisines professionnelles, elle offre une générosité familiale et une polyvalence assumée, grâce à un électroménager semi-professionnel aux dimensions adaptées et à des équipements techniques parfaitement intégrés dans la sobriété du décor. Les grands îlots centraux, véritable cœur convivial de l’espace, sont pensés comme des éléments multifonctions : ils se prêtent aussi bien à un usage de buffet qu’à une préparation culinaire perfectionnée. Le plan de travail, en pierre composite fortement veinée, évoque avec caractère l’effet du marbre, apportant une présence visuelle affirmée. Le volume initial a été entièrement optimisé avec la création d’une cave à vin sur mesure, éclairée, à la fois décorative et fonctionnelle. Elle ouvre une nouvelle perspective dans la pièce et renforce la dimension festive et conviviale du chalet. Les rideaux conçus par la Maison de confection l’Atelier des Frères cultivent une élégante sobriété dans le choix des matières. Rien de monotone pour autant : les textiles offrent une vraie richesse, tant au toucher qu’à l’œil, et apportent une douceur qui contraste subtilement avec le bois brut. Cette unité textile s’inscrit dans une palette pensée pour se décliner harmonieusement dans l’ensemble du chalet.
Designed by Atelier Giffon, the kitchen was crafted by the kitchen manufacturer Poliform, then elevated by the work of the carpenter. To ensure perfect aesthetic coherence, the artisan clad the bar front with the same reclaimed wood used throughout the chalet. Here, the kitchen is above all a living space. Far from the all-stainless-steel world of professional kitchens, it offers a sense of family warmth and intentional versatility, thanks to semi-professional appliances in adapted dimensions and technical equipment perfectly integrated into the understated décor. The large central islands, the true convivial heart of the space, are conceived as multifunctional elements: equally suited for buffet-style service as for refined culinary preparation. The worktop, made of heavily veined composite stone, confidently evokes the character of marble, bringing strong visual presence. The original volume has been fully optimized with the creation of a custom illuminated wine cellar that is both decorative and functional. It opens up a new perspective in the room and enhances the festive and convivial spirit of the chalet. The curtains, designed by the textile workshop Atelier des Frères, cultivate elegant simplicity through their choice of materials. Far from monotonous, the fabrics offer genuine richness, both visually and to the touch, adding softness that subtly contrasts with the raw wood. This textile consistency forms part of a palette carefully conceived to flow harmoniously throughout the entire chalet.
L’intégralité du dernier niveau est consacrée à la chambre Master. Installée sous la charpente, elle s’apparente à un véritable nid d’aigle perché au sommet du chalet. Traditionnellement isolée des autres pièces de nuit, la suite parentale occupe ici le dernier étage pour offrir calme absolu, sentiment de majesté et panoramas privilégiés. Vues dégagées, échappées spectaculaires : tout concourt à en faire un espace d’exception. Dans la salle de bains, un soin particulier a été apporté au calepinage : les carreaux ont été ajustés un à un afin que leur veinage se prolonge parfaitement d’une pièce à l’autre. Un travail minutieux de conception et de mise en œuvre qui révèle un niveau de finition remarquable. Les panneaux muraux, de 60 cm par 2,40 m, renforcent cette élégance graphique. La baignoire îlot s’inscrit face à la fenêtre, au plus près du paysage, offrant un tête-à-tête apaisant avec la forêt. Un petit balcon prolonge la pièce et plonge lui aussi sur les arbres. Enfin, sur la droite du lit, un verre sans tain ouvre une perspective discrète et contemporaine sur le salon en double hauteur, ajoutant une profondeur inattendue à cette suite raffinée.
The entire top floor is devoted to the Master bedroom. Set beneath the rafters, it resembles a true eagle’s nest perched at the very summit of the chalet. Traditionally set apart from the other night spaces, the master suite occupies the uppermost level here, offering absolute tranquility, a sense of majesty, and privileged panoramic views. Unobstructed vistas and spectacular outlooks all contribute to making this an exceptional space. In the bathroom, particular attention was paid to the tile layout: each tile was individually adjusted so that the veining aligns perfectly from one piece to the next. This meticulous design and installation work reveals an exceptional level of craftsmanship. The wall panels, measuring 60 cm by 2.40 m, further enhance this graphic elegance. The freestanding bathtub is positioned facing the window, as close as possible to the landscape, offering a peaceful tête-à-tête with the forest. A small balcony extends the room and also overlooks the trees. Finally, to the right of the bed, a one-way mirror provides a discreet, contemporary view of the double-height living room, adding unexpected depth to this refined suite.
Spécialement dédiée au chalet, la voiture prolonge l’esprit du lieu : une sobriété raffinée, mêlée d’une authenticité qui se décline jusque dans les moindres détails. Dans le garage, un panorama rétroéclairé ouvre la perspective et insuffle une note d’originalité. Autour de la piscine, une photographie d’Erick Saillet, également présentée en panorama rétroéclairé, structure l’espace. Issue de sa banque d’images, elle est la seule à introduire une touche colorée — un bleu profond — choisie pour enrichir visuellement l’ambiance. Placée en angle, elle accentue la profondeur, révèle les volumes et apporte la luminosité indispensable à cet environnement en sous-sol, dépourvu de lumière naturelle. Composé de lames de bois orientées en oblique, le plafond diffuse une lumière zénithale subtile qui évoque presque une entrée de lumière du jour. À l’extrémité du bassin, le spa réunit un jacuzzi, un sauna, un hammam et une douche multisensorielle. Fonctionnel avant tout, le ski-room s’inscrit néanmoins pleinement dans l’esthétique du chalet. Traité avec les mêmes matériaux nobles, il devient une pièce à part entière, chaleureuse et cohérente avec l’ensemble. Enfin, un canapé accueille visiteurs et résidents dès l’entrée, installant d’emblée une atmosphère confortable et raffinée, qui perdure lors des merveilleux séjours dans ce chalet d’exception au luxe épuré.
Specially dedicated to the chalet, the car extends the spirit of the place: refined simplicity blended with authenticity, expressed down to the smallest details. In the garage, a backlit panoramic image opens up the perspective and adds a touch of originality. Around the pool, a photograph by Erick Saillet, also presented as a backlit panorama, structures the space. Taken from his image bank, it is the only piece to introduce a hint of color — a deep blue — chosen to visually enrich the ambiance. Positioned at an angle, it enhances depth, reveals the volumes, and brings the essential luminosity to this underground environment, deprived of natural light. The ceiling, composed of wooden slats set diagonally, diffuses a subtle zenithal glow that almost evokes natural daylight. At the far end of the pool, the spa area brings together a jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, and multisensory shower. Functional above all, the ski room nonetheless fully embraces the chalet’s aesthetic. Treated with the same noble materials, it becomes a room in its own right, warm and perfectly consistent with the whole. Finally, a sofa welcomes visitors and residents as soon as they enter, immediately establishing a refined and comfortable atmosphere that accompanies every stay in this exceptional chalet of understated luxury.
